What is Metadata?

Metadata defines how products are categorized and interpreted by Arrangement AI. It uses descriptive labels, or metadata tags, to identify product groups such as Category, Subcategory, Segment, Manufacturer, and Brand. Accurate and consistent metadata ensures the tool can correctly identify product relationships, apply constraints, and generate optimization results.

1. Click Download Metadata button for the correct format.
2. Open the file in Excel and fill out the metadata tags/fields for each product.

Metadata File Requirements:

• Required Fields: Category, Brand, Manufacturer
• Optional Fields: Subcategory, Segment

Metadata File Tips

• Extra columns are ignored, but blank required fields cause failures.
• Case-sensitive formatting is required.
• ID1 = GTIN, ID2 = Product ID
• When opening in Excel, select “Don’t Convert” to retain leading zeros.
